Why I Create Art (and why I publish it!)

Why I Create Art (and why I publish it!)

Salutations,

I want to tell you why I do what I do – why I paint, sketch, craft, whatever. And why I put it on this corner of the internet for you to see.

So why do I paint or sketch or craft?

I love the feel of the paint on the brush, smoothing over the paper.IMG_6521

I love mixing things and making something new. I love experimenting and doing my own thing, which sometimes happens to be what no one’s done before. I can’t keep myself from the paint and the pencils.

Sticking with the crowd isn’t my thing. I like to think outside the box and create outside the box.

My random brain sometimes creates weird paintings or sketches. Some are just plain ugly.

I’m OK with that.

Because they’re mine.

But why do I want you all to see my paintings and my other art?

Maybe it has something to do with how my English teacher puts it – “You’re not writing for yourself.” You’re writing for other people.

So I’m not painting for myself. I’m not snapping photos for myself. I’m creating for the world. I’m creating for you.

Outdoor Photography

Hi! Time for another photography post 🙂

Here are some outdoor photos I took. The main difficulty I usually have with outdoor photography is light. There’s almost always way too much of it! However, I try to compensate by adjusting shutter speed, etc.

I hope you use my pictures as inspiration for your own! If you have any post ideas, let me know in that wonderful section known as The Comments.

I’m a Focus Fanatic

Hello!

Time for more pictures! These were taken yesterday in the outdoors.

Blue

Focus is one of my favorite toys! You can do so much with it, even on auto.

Here’s one example of focus:

This pictures looks ok…

Orange

But now:

With the focus only in front, the picture just looks more purposeful.

Again, this looks so-so:

Focus in back

But this looks pretty cool:

By the way, in this pictures I use a Canon PowerShot SX120 IS.

Sorry the above pic is a little blurry – I had to crop it because the bird was actually kind of small in the original.

That’s it for this post, folks. Adios! I hope you take my pictures and use them as inspiration for your own. Experiment with focus!
