I don’t know about you, but my abstract art doesn’t always come out so well. I mean, you’re supposed to be “free” and “loose” and all that, but sometimes it looks… a little too free. If you catch my drift. Sometimes, I need instructions. Actually, make that more than sometimes. So here are some instructions for one method of abstract art. Follow them loosely and make up your own methods too!
Here’s what it looks like when it’s done:
Looks pretty simple, but still enjoyable.
I don’t really remember if I got this from somewhere or if it came out of my own brain, but here we go.
Step 1: Draw some lines. Make whatever design you want, or make no design at all.
Ok, now that we’ve made some squiggles…
Step 2. Start filling in the sections that you’ve (probably unknowingly) made.
The idea is to fill in each section with a different design, but my brain rain out of design ideas so I ended up repeating. Fill them in with polka dots and swirls, or shade them, or add stripes.

Hope you enjoy your art-making! Experiment with colors or different mediums if you like.
